strider and a little more

No, this little guy is not a stuffed animal. He's a real live puppy. My mom and sister's new puppy, actually. May I present to you...Strider

And here his eyes are a little more open.  And yes, he is just as fluffy as he looks. Oh, and he is pictured above with my nephew Eli as well as my mom's head. Don't worry, it is the back of her head; she doesn't look like Cousin It at all.
I have to take some credit because I did suggest his awesome name. It was really difficult saying good-bye to him tonight, since I only just met him yesterday and I have to go back on tour tomorrow...

     Back. On. Tour.

How do I do that again? Pack all my clothes like it's no big deal; count the weeks and marginalize their number in my head, tricking myself into believing that it will go by fast; but it will go by fast, it always does; yet it's still time, precious time that I have been allotted and I spend it away from Drew; maybe I am crazy, yes I definitely am to do this; but then I remember that he's the kind of guy that won't allow me to turn down a dream job, even said yes when I couldn't, told me we would make it work; he doesn't complain when he goes home to a house that feels so big, so silent with the piano in the corner and me not there to play it; he is at once the reason why I can do it and the reason why a part of me hates doing it, being so far from him; but he's grace for me, more than I deserve and, again, we will make this work.

Knock 'em dead. And then, when they see that you are a killer triple threat, they'll let you perform where you want, when you want, and take along whomever you want (at their expense, of course).

Oh, and gotta say: I like Drew. What a guy.

This almost brought tears to my ears because Strider is so cute...just keeping it real. But I seriously DO NOT know how you do it, my friend. You and Drew have an amazing relationship.

I really felt something very strongly today, Jess--that Drew would be an incredibly asset on the tour. He knows how to do so much!!! Certainly there could be a job for him on the tour? If you decided to do Asia, it would be such a wonderful thing if both of you could go together, wouldn't it? Do you know if jobs come up on tour? Do they need a euphonium player? But Drew could learn to do any job, plus he could understudy for any part, we know that.

I think Drew is amazingly talented but the idea of him doing some of those dances make me laugh, mom!

lol--some of these comments made me laugh! Yes, drew is very talented, but I am not sure that a broadway show is the right direction for him. We'll see...we'll figure something out, I am sure.

Thanks for all the support and love!!!

I have seen Strider in person and felt his fluffy softness, and he licked my hand repeatedly in greeting...what a sweetie! I am so glad he is not another cat! (I'm sorry, Lynn, it's nothing personal, I think your cats are beautiful, I wish I could pet them/be near them without the deleterious side-effects!)

Jess, you and Jase just have to get really famous and start your own theater so you can live where you want! :-)

sounds like a plan, Kathie!!!

And how wonderful you got to meet him--seriously, that puppy is one of the most amazing creatures I know!

I would pay money to see Drew try Anthony's split jump!

how much, Jase? Cause if it's a hefty enough check, and came say, once a week, than maybe I wouldn't need to be on tour anymore and could live with Drew!!!

Problem solved. (drew work on your toe touches!)
